Originally launched in 2013, Trivia Crack (Also known as Preguntados in Spanish) is a trivia-based knowledge game developed by technology and gaming company Etermax. During 2022, a comprehensive refresh of both the brand and the product was set in motion, taking the gameʼs upcoming tenth anniversary as the perfect opportunity to reimagine its identity and experience. The main premise behind this refresh was to deliver a stronger, more user-centric social journey. The strategic refresh aimed to align the brand with todayʼs audience behaviors, heavily shaped by social media. By enhancing the social dimension of the experience, we targeted a more casual user base and repositioned the game not only as entertainment but as a catalyst for human connection. This comprehensive brand and product refresh was meant to remain true to the gameʼs original essence while making it feel more contemporary, appealing, and socially relevant. On the branding side, the goal was to modernize the logomark by refining its visual elements—preserving its iconic traits while enhancing its freshness, versatility, and overall appeal. From a broader visual identity standpoint, we set out to highlight human presence and social interaction more prominently. Trivia Crack already featured a cast of characters representing its trivia categories; our approach was to retain these characters but reintroduce them as companions to the players—mascot-like figures that live alongside users, fostering a playful connection. I contributed to developing the brand's concept, tone of voice and core pillars, then led the redesign of the visual identity and the creation of a centralized brand hub with clear guidelines and usable assets.
